Afraid

Afraid

Trembling with exhaustion,
I turn to you, my Lord, for solace.

Ease my pain and salve my wounds.
In your great strength, give me courage.

Courage to work for the wages of Jacob,
and be content that your will be done.

Rescue me from my fears, Lord,
and set fire to my pride.

Make every breath I take
the Spirit of eternal life,

and my ease my worries upon your chest,
embraced and loved for all my faults.
