That is our guides. The guides, whether in a form of human or things can lead us to either the straight lane or the winding lane. The choices is up to us which to take. but how can one decide if it were not for the environment & experiences? I hope I made sense here..but I really see your point.
Thank you Charley..and have a wonderful evening.
Gem :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5893677055178947530.post-53685263560356140922005-10-05T18:48:00.000-07:002005-10-05T18:48:00.000-07:00oh btw..wonderful poem :-)oh btw..wonderful poem :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5893677055178947530.post-10751998682069284072005-10-05T20:22:00.000-07:002005-10-05T20:22:00.000-07:00Great poem, Charley. For me, true happiness, peace ...Great poem, Charley.

For me, true happiness, peace and fulfillment only came when I truly gave my life to the Lord, but for those who do not follow Him, then it would be essential for them to develop trust in others to be their guides. For me, the Lord is my guide; I'm glad he's carrying the burden for me; too difficult for me to do on my own and too high of expectations for anyone else to carry it for me. (and too tired to realize if what I just wrote made sense or not)

bettyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5893677055178947530.post-49659530800960590472005-10-05T20:28:00.000-07:002005-10-05T20:28:00.000-07:00Wow, very powerful poem Charley. It doesn't have to be... Looking inward, with brutal honesty, can help you to learn who you really are... The good, the mediocre, and the truely ugly... Inward can be retreat, it's true... But inward can also be revelation... *If* you have the courage to face yourself as you are, and the veritas not to hide from it... If you have the courage to embrace it, and shape it...

I liked the poem... I am learning this lesson so well. This past week while I have been so worried about my son, the members from my church and more specifically the memebers of my class at church have been calling and praying and doing whatever they can to take my mind off the worrying! People here in J-Land who made comments and said prayers made my way easier also! I so appreciate "community" in a way I never have before!! I know they are for me. I have a very hard time actually admitting that I have these spaces in my heart. And head. Life is so much easier without those complications. I know someday though, I will have to open them and hear the "sounds of silence".
