Settle
In tepid days of bleak mediocrity,
I settle.
In half-truths, false circumstances and lies,
I settle.
In the hatred of my parents and the isolation of all,
I settle.
I settle.
For fruitless searches into self-identity;
useless, I settle.
For mind numbing gray depression;
sadly, I settle.
For fear of failure and being alone;
anxiously, I settle.
I settle for what I am and what I am not. I am a man of little courage. I am a man of pride.
